January 6, 2016 Happy New Year!

Hey Family! We had a pretty great week this week. New Years was a pretty normal day for us but, since it's considered dangerous, we had to be in before 7, so it was a little short. We did get an awesome surprise when the 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric and his family sent us a bunch of pizza for dinner. Other than that, we just did our weekly planning and went to bed. I slept through the fireworks but my roommates said that they were super loud. It's sad to hear that Mom was sick for New Years and had to miss the festivities. I hope you set some awesome goals and made plans to bring them to pass.

We have some awesome news, the wedding is almost definitely going to happen on Saturday. Satan's working hard to stop it but, as of right now, it's going to happen. We decided to push the Baptism back a week though, instead of doing the wedding and the baptism on the same day. This Saturday is still going to be awesome and special though, and next Saturday will be doubly awesome and special, because L___ and R___ will both get baptized! I don't know how much I've already told you about L___, but he's such a miracle. We street contacted into him in November but weren't ever able to contact him again, because he works so much and we didn't have his phone number. Then, at transfers, some Chinese speaking sisters gave our zone leaders some information for a guy in our area, with his phone number. When we finally were able to contact then meet with him he said he felt like he had finally found the thing that's been missing in his life, so gold.

We have a pretty big deal meeting this Saturday. We're not allowed to say too much about it because they don't want members here to get jealous or just randomly show up, so I'll tell you all about it next week. It going to be super cool, maybe the Smiths will put something on social media so you can see what I'm talking about.

Other than that the only thing that really changed a whole lot is the weather. It got cold quick! I love it! Elder Mackintosh and our roommates think I'm crazy. It dropped like 20 degrees in a day on Monday so it actually felt like January in New York City. Good thing I got all of the winter stuff for Christmas otherwise I might've not liked the cold as much.

I love you and pray for you all the time. Have a great week!

Con Amor,
Elder Sam McBride

This super nice older lady in our ward took all of the Elders in
our zone out to New Year's Day lunch. She made us wear these cheesy
hats to take a few pictures.

Beautiful view from 176th St. In our area. That's a massive
building in New Jersey that's just perfectly framed by the street.
Also some super cheesy Christmas decorations that we found.
